Learn from one of our Nomad Cooks in a live cookery workshop with 1:1 tuition. Get three or four households together on Zoom to have fun and get creative in the kitchen whilst learning to cook a delicious meal.
On a private group Zoom call, Chef Hannah Tooke will coach you on how to cook and plate up a restaurant-quality meal at home. You'll also be taught key skills to incorporate into your home cooking and take it to the next level.
Additionally, Catriona from Wise Grapes will give a short talk on what grape varieties pair with the menu, what to look for when choosing wine and give some recommendations on what to buy to complement your meal.
Learn to make a fish Thai red curry with fluffy rice and sesame green beans, and gooey chocolate brownies with salted caramel sauce. You will have the chance to chat with Chef Hannah about your questions that may crop up, gain confidence in the kitchen, and also share the experience with other households in your group call.
If there is some healthy competition between the households, Hannah will judge which group has followed her instruction most closely during the call and has the best-presented dish. The winner will be crowned 'Head Chef' for the evening and earn full bragging rights.

You can either participate in a private class with other households that you know or join a class with households you have not yet met. Within your household, anyone can get involved - Mum, Dad, kids, housemates - the more the merrier!
The maximum class size is four households to ensure you have a clear relationship with the chef.
For your lesson, each household will be given a Zoom link which you will join at the start time.
Yes, you will be sent an ingredients list, all of which you can pick up at your local supermarket or greengrocer.
Only the essentials you can make do with alternatives too. Here is a list Hannah created for the October Menu:
1 chopping board
1 chef’s knife
4 medium sauce pans
1 saucepan lid
2 large fry pans
1 whisk
1 spatular
1 brownie tin or metal baking tray
1 clean jar
1 ice-cream scoop or large spoon
1 colander or sieve
1 medium bowl
1 Magimax, blender or Nutribullet (if you have one)
Before the class you will be sent a video from Catriona to watch which introduces you to wine pairings for the night. She will recommend some bottles which you can go out and buy in preparation for the meal.
During the class, she will give another talk with a more 'hands-on' approach to the tasting with an informative but most importantly fun approach.
All households will join Chef Hannah on a Zoom call, with their ingredients and equipment ready.
Hannah will demonstrate two recipes, while you cook along with her, giving you the chance to ask questions as you need and show her your progress.
At the end of the class you will plate your dishes, using the techniques that Hannah has demonstrated. Then taste your selected wines along side the delicious main course and dessert that you have made.
You will need to bring your laptop into the kitchen to follow the lesson. The call will be hosted on Zoom which is very easy to use. You will be emailed a link which you need to click on to join the zoom call. Hannah will talk you through anything else you need to do.
We will also organise a WhatsApp group with Hannah so you can be in contact easily and send in close-up pictures of the dishes, so other households can see what you’ve created.
