Liz is an absolute foodie so made it her job after 20 years in event management! Since graduating from Leiths, Liz has been working for private clients in the UK and abroad, as well as for boutique caterers. Liz's cooking style focuses on colourful and delicious food that tastes as good as it looks!
Food has always been a passion, I have some amazing cooks in my family who taught me how to cook and I have been cooking ever since. I’ve organised dinner parties for friends since I was a teenager, spent most family parties in the kitchen and spent a lot of time just trying out new recipes to find something yummy to enjoy. It’s always been one of my favourite hobbies and after years of working in event management, I turned my passion into my career with formal training at Leiths School of Food and Wine and have been working as a freelance chef ever since.
I grew up in the Gloucestershire countryside with a strong seasonal British influence which has made me a big fan of traditional flavour combinations. I also have strong ties through my family with Greece and France which add a Mediterranean/continental style to my dishes - really brings that sunshine feeling to food in my opinion!
All of it! I love choosing a menu, sourcing the ingredients, preparing the food, the actual cooking, plating the dish to make it look beautiful and watching people enjoy it. The whole process can feel like a mindfulness exercise for me as I lose myself in the process!
Lemon, salt and sugar - they may not seem like the most exciting ingredients but the difference they can make to a plate of food is unbelievable!
Outside of the kitchen I always like to have something fun planned to look forward to - holidays, nights out, comedy gigs, escape rooms or the absolute luxury of just having someone cook for me!
